“三单”是在主语是第三人称单数的情况下，谓语动词要变化，变化规律：
（1）谓语动词是be动词，则用is, 一般过去时用was，
（2）谓语动词是实义动词，后面加s或es。注意：如果是过去式，谓语动词后不加s或es. 如：
1.Linlin is a clever boy in his class. (be动词的一般现在时)
2.Linlin was a clever boy in his class last year.（be动词的一般过去时）
3.Linlin does his homework at home every evening.（实义动词的一般现在时）
4.Linlin's brother works in that factory two years ago.（实义动词的一般现在时）
5.Marry liked drawing pictures when she was a pupil.（实义动词的一般过去时，谓语动词后不加s或es）
注：“三单”是在谓语动词上体现的。
